1970s Soviet Lomonosov porcelain tea caddy

Porcelain tea caddy with a little teapot shaped lid and inner ceramic stopper made in the USSR by Lomonosov.

 

The tea caddy was made in 1970s. This item was made for export in Leningrad (Sankt Petersburg) by the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory. 

The Imperial Porcelain Factory was established by Dmitry Ivanovich Vinogradov in 1744. It was supported by the Romanov tsars. It is commonly referred to as a Lomonosov Porcelain Factory. In 1925 the factory was given the name of the Russian Academy of Science founder, Mikhail Lomonosov. It became known as the Leningrad Lomonosov Porcelain Factory.
