The factory was founded in Limoges by Martial Redon and P.J. Gibus. It started production in the early 1860s. Gibus retired in 1881 and left the sole ownership to Redon. They produced plates, cups and vases. The company was also known to produce decorative arts. They did underglaze patterns and pate-sur-pate.
in 1896, Martial Redon retired and his son Joseph took over the company. Ten years later, he was joined by P. Jouhanneaud and his son. The company was renamed La Porcelaine Limousine.
In 1918, the factory was taken over by George Magne, P. Jouhanneaud's nephew. Twenty years later, the factory was closed. It was reopened in 1946 by Alexandre Chastagnac, who built a new factory in 1955.
