Gerd van Well & Co., Porcelain and Glass Wholesaler was founded in the German city of Düsseldorf in 1959. Six years later the company opened the first model room in Krefeld.
In 1980 they entered a few new markets, including Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Denmark, Italy, and the former Yugoslavia.
In 2018 Gerd van Well handed over management of the company to his sons Marcus and Thomas van Well. Four years later they became a part of a Munich-based group of companies.
In 2023 they introduced a new brand, Töchter & Söhne. The company also distributes such brands as Bormioli-Rocco, Luigi Bormioli, Pasabahce, Arcoroc, Luminarc, Chef & Sommelier.
