Noah's Ark Villeroy & Boch Design Naif pattern plate
The Noah's Ark plate from the Design Naif collection designed by Laplau.
This simple pattern is based on naive style of painting. This style is based on simplicity of form and themes often compared to childlike painting. This plate design is created by Gerard Laplau. He is a French folk artist who was spotted by Villeroy & Boch after creating a Christmas Card for UNICEF.
The Design Naif pattern was created in 1979. It is rich in bright colours and full of simple everyday stories: weddings, families, grandparents, workers, hunters, farmers, churches and animals.
Gerard Laplau died on July the 14th 2009 in Saint-Céré, France.
