The business was founded in 1866 by Georg Bruno Foedisch and Arved von Roemer under the name Roemer & Foedisch. In 1891, it was transformed into Porzellanfabrik Fraureuth AG. The company quickly developed into one of the largest German porcelain factories of its time. The factory is known for producing high- quality ware.
In 1916, the art department was founded. in 1919, Porzellanfabrik Fraureuth acquired a porcelain factory in the town of Wallendorf, which was renamed Porzellanmanufaktur Fraureuth, Niederlassung Wallendorf. From 1919 it was used by the Fraureuth company as an art department. The Fraureuth company also bought a porcelain decoration studio in Lichte.
The company went bankrupt in 1926.
